Still sick…
I was thinking how every time I post it’s such depressing news…well at least to me….please know that there ARE good things going on in our lives…just pray that those will stay very big and bright in front of us right now because honestly the last few days have just seemed pretty dark to me…hope that makes sense.
As far as our family….well the kids are still struggling with this virus and now Eddie is sick…running a fever and feeling pretty rotten. Poor guy. Personally I think part of it is that he’s just really worn out. Anyway thanks for your continued prayers. One question for you moms and dads out there with little kids….have any other suggestions for how we can get Selah to drink something? She will not go the pedialyte or gatorade way at all…we’ve even tried tricking her but obviously she’s too smart for that. I’ve tried Popsicles at the store, jello, a new sippy cup….nothing works. Last night I had to force liquid down her with a syringe…it was not my idea of fun for sure. Anyway any advice would be great….
Ok well thanks for praying….I’m learning to depend on God in a whole new way these days…although it hurts I know Eddie and I are growing from this….thanks for continuing to believe in us….I know God has an awesome plan in this….that in itself is so encouraging for me.

Oh my goodness! I wish I was there to help! I have no idea how to get Selah to drink except to make it a game and involving a reward of some kind. You are all so much in my prayers right now!

Hey my friend Heather said with her 1 1/2yr old she puts chocolate or strawberry syrup in the milk and she will drink it if she hasn’t drink anything in awhile. Heather asked how long has she not been drinking?

You guys have been so strong through this whole ordeal, and have been the most amazing witness to me on faith. No matter what the doctors tell you, you’ve trusted God to do His thing. I’m so glad you keep us all updated so that we can see God working in your life, and see your faith (and the faith of everyone praying) in action.
When you get a little down, listen to the song “Mighty To Save”. I especially love the chorus;
Savior, He can move the mountain
My God is mighty to save, He is mighty to save
Forever, Author of Salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave
And whenever satan tries to get ahold of you, remember we all love you guys and are standing with you against your enemy’s attacks!

Jessica has twins as old as Selah and this is what she is saying.
If she won’t take popcicles or jello, I don’t know what else to try. Have they called the Dr? The most important thing is that the baby has 1 pee pee diaper every 8 hours. If not, they should take it to the Dr ASAP.
Hope the baby gets better soon!

No ideas on how to get her to drink, but I’m sure you are aware of how fast little kids can dehydrate. If she’s not drinking or peeing, she’s probably dehydrated. My suggestion is to call the doctor’s this morning & get their advice. My prayers are with you, my friend. Keep holding on…God is working. I wish I was there to help….in the meantime…here’s a big hug <>
Love you,
Dana

Do you guys drink soda? If we put anything in a soda can for Madison, even just water, she thinks it is a great treat. We are all praying for you and your family up here in Maine.

hi Martha Maire. i have prayed for you earnestly over the last weeks. thank you for sharing online so that i can pray more specifically for you. about getting Selah to drink…….
“play a game” w/ her…….give her a straw and have her count how many drops of water (or whatever) she can get in mommy and daddy’s mouth…….but she has to agree to let you try w/ her also. even tiny bits of fluid are better than none. also……use the “bobbing for apples” idea. get a mixing bowl and put apple slices (or something she likes) and let her put her face and mouth in to get it out. and try letting her put a drop of food coloring (it’s tasteless) in her water and then sipping it. allow her to use an “adult” cup of plain water even if she spills some on herself. just some ideas. i will pray something works and that the virus is gone soon.
the Lord be w/ you…….

i have a new baby brother and we are teaching him to drink from a regular cup. what we do is lean him over his high chair and my dad puts the water in his mouth and then push up(lightly) on his chin untill we know that he has swallowed it. it works and he might get upset with us sometimes but it truely works…….
I know that at Hayworth everyone in the school prayes for you guys every morning. even the kids who dont really know you (like me)! we care so much about you and we hope that everything turns out ok.
Randy and Dawn Smith told me to tell you guys hello and that they are thinking about you!!!
much love
God Bless
